ABOUT ME

I am still figuring myself out. I think the more you interact with people, the more you learn about yourself. That's my mission....that and helping children to open their minds to reading and exploration.

I currently teach high school English + Film at the American School of Dubai. Prior to that I was teaching HS English at the German School in Washington, DC. I love it! I have dreamed of teaching overseas and returning to the life abroad that I grew up with for quite some time, and now I am finally fulfilling that personal goal.

Laughing is important for vitality. Learning is essential for growing. So I like laughable learning experiences? I smile a lot. I seek out interesting people that will help me grow and with whom to share incredible experiences!

I love independent films and music. I am particularly fond of electronica and indie rock. Grimes...Sigur Ros...DJ Shadow... but I also love instruments like the sitar and mandolin.

I'm in love with Murakami's writing...but love reading in general. I seek a good story...well-developed characters...emotion, but not at the cost of quality word choice.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've done "tree pose" atop a rock on the breathtaking Cape of Good Hope and slept in a tent near a lion's den (my dad's idea) in Kenya when I was four. A lot of crazy stories in between.

Hmmm.... I am very knowledgeable on novels, music, art, film, photography... My current goals are to learn how to ride a motorcycle, improve my snowboarding techniques (i.e. get down without falling :)), get my scuba certification.
