About Me

No more. Until this app fixes its business model and stops changing over and over, I'm out.

I am an open-minded, friendly and easy going engineer living in Graz, Austria since January 2020. I originally come from Istanbul, Turkey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Signed up just because having someone over in my apartment sounds fun and I have a comfortable couch! Jokes aside, I like the idea of getting to know people from different backgrounds, sharing my experiences, hearing their stories. I don't have all the time to travel everywhere or maybe I'm just lazy; but Couchsurfing makes me feel like I am learning about those places where my surfers have been to and it's a sparkle for my plans.

In addition, being a quite good cook, my only motivation to cook is to share it. Otherwise I just survive on sandwiches.

Interests

I love doing physical activities such as biking, hiking, bouldering, running(I took a break because of a problem with my knee) and weightlifting. Pull-ups are my favorite, I can push myself to 12 wide grips. I can confidently say I suck at most of them, set I try my best to get better.

I love cooking. I have a wide knowledge on Turkish cuisine and can cook it pretty good. Recently I am trying to learn Austrian cuisine by reading a book and eating the food from local people.

I used to play a lot of video games which I don't have time for right now. I still play Fifa from time to time, yet I suck at it, again.

I recently started photography as an amateur and would love to take photos of you, or of the city while showing you around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked a hill(Platbusch) in Graz starting at 8p.m, 5.7.2020, when it was getting dark already. By the time I reached the top, it was completely dark. I watched the full moon, and the beautiful stars. Then I started the route backwards by 10.30. I got lost in the forest despite having a bike headlight with me which I used just to read signs.

Enjoyed fireflies. Had the fear of encountering a wild animal, which introduced me the highest level of adrenaline I have ever experienced. Shouted in the dark forest until I lost my voice. Ended up 2 km away from where I parked my bike when I reached civilization.

I enjoyed every little bit of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn about anything about philosophy or social sciences in general which I don't have any idea about as well as your country.

What I can teach you really depends on who you are; we'll see! (:

Countries I’ve Visited
