Overview
About Me
I am an easy going nomadic 32 year old Australian with one purpose - get lost. Never have I been terribly interested in living a typical conservative life with all the creature comforts so many of us believe necessary. The securities of a steady job, a comfy house, and predictable routine do not appeal to me. I believe the most crucial thing for an adventurous spirit is change, a chance to grow, and experience new horizons. An alternative lifestyle packed with crazy adventures and even crazier friends is all I want. Nothing more. I adore the randomness, uncertainty, and freedom of life on the road, and intend on continuing my travels for years to come.
Australia is huge and beautiful. I spent years whimsically exploring my home country to the point that few places were left unvisited. Leaving on a one way trip abroad was the natural next step. So in early 2018 I decided South East Asia was calling my name. 3 glorious months past as I soaked up everything Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam had to offer. It was life changing.
After this? Well Sweden, of course. I was offered a home in Lomma in Southern Sweden by a good friend I met in Perth years earlier. After living in Sweden and exploring around for the last year, I am now quiet knowledgeable about Sweden's happy culture, and beautiful language. It has been truly amazing to live in another country like a local. Hostels can be mind blowingly fun, but to truly get to know the local way of life, you must stay with a local.
More about me...
I pride myself on my optimistic and relaxed demeanor; I feel there is always a silver lining to every cloud! What I value most by far are my friendships, and the unbelievable experiences we've shared. I know that happiness and satisfaction is easy to find if you look in the right places.
Since leaving Sweden I've whimsically backpacked through Europe and the Middle East, meeting friends and collecting new ones along the way. During 2020 I lived in Leipzig, Germany. Currently, I'm living in Turkey :D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is the opposite of Facebook, making digital people real instead of real people digital! My goal is to travel the world, but not be a tourist. I want to truly immerse myself in new cultures. Couchsurfing provides the most rewarding and unique experience along my travels.
I'm not interested in a bed, I want to get to know you! If I just wanted a bed I would pay for one. Staying with a local is a really rewarding experience because you truly become one yourself. I would be very happy getting to know you, understanding your beliefs, and way of life. I have nothing but time and crazy ideas of how to spend it!
I love how couchsurfing brings different people from all corners of the world together, to share in this crazy beautiful thing we call life. Once back in Australia I want to share the spirit of Couchsurfing by giving back to other people visiting my beautiful country.
To show my appreciation for your generosity and welcoming me into your home, I always aim to be the ideal guest that I'd like to have in my own home.
