About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to see what the same afternoon looks like all over the world.
ABOUT ME
there are places i want to go, and things i want to see, and stuff i want to do, but mostly there are people i want to meet. i was born in upstate new york but i spent most of my childhood growing up in northern california. now i go to school in new york city and am completely in love. i love walt whitman, listening to music on long car rides, and my family. i love food, perhaps too much, but so far my pursuit of culinary satisfaction hasn't steered me too wrong. at parties, i make friends by talking about gabriel garcia marquez and what i would do to get ready for the apocalypse of 2012.
PHILOSOPHY
for me, the most important things in my life are people. if you don't have personal relationships, you don't have anything at all. time well spent is never time wasted, no matter what. i occasionally have trouble meeting school deadlines or getting that paper written before 4 am because i will never consider a conversation with a friend in the park until midnight, a random trip to a brand new restaurant, or a crazy car adventure to be a waste of time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i have never couch surfed before but i am 100% interested. it is such an amazing idea to me, and something i want to get involved in while i'm travelling here in europe, and also when i get back to the states this spring! anyone i stay with this fall is more than welcome to crash on my couch in nyc :)
Interests
books i haven't read, books i have read, cooking with my grandmother in her kitchen, listening to music so loud i can't hear the wheels of my own car turning, playing ultimate frisbee until i can't feel my legs anymore, running barefoot, hiking up mountains (big ones, small ones, short ones, tall ones), making up stories, looking at stars, writing my own dictionary.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i was only eleven when i saw it, but the grand canyon remains one of the most amazing things i've seen in my lifetime. it is just. so. huge. i would love to one day hike to the bottom of it, but even only after a one hour hike in, my mind was blown. i love hiking, camping, and being outdoors, and something that vast, uncontrollable, and depthless is mesmerizing to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
i can recommend great books, or we can talk about great books for hours. i also am completely STOKED about the sport of ultimate frisbee, so if you're interested in learning how to throw a forehand, hammer, or scoober, i would love to show you how. i am also really good at eating really good food (and getting better at making it all the time...)
