The plan was world domination, but I’m far to lazy to actually act on that… so I downgraded my ambitions to just travel as much as possible.

ABOUT ME

Well I can be quiet or really loud, stubborn or go with the flow, slightly sarcastic or really sarcastic, cynical at times… or all the time. Often a little silly… and I love to see the world.
To seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where… wait… yeah, never mind.
But I really like to explore new cultures and well, like I said, to see the world.

It all started out small though; just little trips here and there… and then I went to Cuba, where I wanted to go to since the beginning of High School. I think that’s the official place where I was infected with the travel virus. So now I want to go everywhere... And it really helps to have an accomplice (hey Linda…waves manically at her travel buddy)

And o yeah… I’m a vegetarian… just so you know.

Interests

I think it all boils down to stories. I like stories, all kinds of stories and in all kinds of different media. Be it books, movies, songs or narrated. If it’s interesting I will read, watch or hear it enthusiastically. Furthermore hanging out with friends and just being silly. And traveling, of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: all kinds, from folk to jazz to rock. I’m a big fan of the music especially if I'm listening to it at a festival. I’m also always looking for new interesting and exciting songs, bands or singer/songwriters. So if you have any suggestions about music that I really need to hear… than by all means, tell me about it!

Movies: movies are great. Drama, action, fantasy, thriller, (Japanese) horror, anime and all that… bring it on!!

Books: ahhh yeah, I can not begin to express my love for books… I think it’s my favorite from these 3. Drop me in a bookstore and I can entertain myself until the store closes and they have to kick me out. It’s just the feel and smell of them. Or a whole room of books and a comfy chair. Throw in a bucket load of tea and I’m all set.

Although I have to say, I’m still on the fence about that new Ipod sort of thingie for books… the eBook. On one hand, it can store a lot of books that you can switch between so, if you’re like me who alternates between like 5 books at a time, it’s briljant. But on the other hand… it’s not a book… you’re not holding a book, feeling paper… reading the paper instead of a screen… I just don’t know…
But yeah… I’ll stop with the ranting now… seeing as it’s not really the place for it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Sierra Maestra in Cuba, seeing the headquarters of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara where they operated from during the revolution.

Watching Dubai grow from a relative smallish city to the metropolis it is now.

I’m trying to get my hands on The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry in all different languages. I just love that story!!!
