About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meeting travelers and share my local experiences, getting in touch with new cultures and languages, being a host & guide.
FORMER TRAVELS
I took a sabbatical and traveled through China, Southkorea, Japan and the Philippines in 120 days (August-December 2015).
I like Japan so much that I stayed there longer and actually, I am learning the language, so I am searching for a Japanese language partner who would like to learn or improve his/her German and/or English. :)
Setting up a daily morning routine that helps me to start into the day and that works everywhere in the world was one of my biggest challenges.
ABOUT ME
I am 33 years, female, from Cologne / KÖLN, Germany. I love to travel, cook, meet new people from all over the world and show Köln to everyone who is interested. I like to travel solo or in company of my friend, who visited me in Japan during my long term trip.
PHILOSOPHY
Ich reise niemals ohne mein Tagebuch. Man sollte immer etwas Aufregendes zu lesen bei sich haben.
(I never travel without my diary. You should always have something exciting to read with you.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
* traveling to Southchina, solo, without the ability to say more than 'hallo' and 'thank you' in Chinese taught me the importance of wearing a smile.
* did the plank walk in Hua'Shan, China.
* 3 days canoe tour through 10.000 islands (Everglades National Park Florida) without any guide was much more challenging and frightening than expected - and one of the best experiences ever. Wind, waves, navigation, everything at the same time... Lonesome beaches only shared with raccoons and breathtaking nature was absolutely worth it! :)
Teach, Learn, Share
At the moment: Learn Japanese, teach German/English!
As of January 2016: I am always happy to show you around in Cologne to get a feeling of local spots. I like to go out with friends to drink a beer and I am always happy to get in touch with new people from all over the world.
Although it is the "forbidden town", I am in Düsseldorf sometimes, so that we can meet up there, too.
Düsseldorf or Cologne, it is great to meet people, get some new ideas of where I can travel, and the best thing is to listen to stories from people with a slightly or totally different view on the world. I can think of no better venue for stiring up wanderlust...
What I would like to learn: About you! Tell me what you experienced, about your view on things and what you would like to tell! I'm always curious!
If you like, we can cook your favourite meal, just bring your recipe and a story with it. My kitchen is quite spacious and comfy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
my experiences from several solo traveling trips,
a place to rest and relax,
beginner skills in rolling sushi.
