ABOUT ME

I am Irish, 35 years old. I was born in a small town in the republic of ireland, called Athenry. I went to university in the nearby city of Galway where I studied law. i then went and lived in Edinburgh, Scotland for a year. I loved the city. I then returned to Ireland to pursue a law career, which lasted three and a half years. I have two brothers and I am one of a twin.

I have travelled extensively. I spent a year and a half in south and central america after my college degree.This was really the first travelling experience I had and it was a great one.

Three years later, I spent four months in Nepal, Northern India and Pakistan.

This time, I have been travelling for four years, mainly in Asia, both Central and Southeast. I started my trip in Pakistan and I am now on my way home, THE LONG WAY!

During my travels this time, I ran a bar in a small french owned resort on a small but beautiful island in thailand. I did it for two seasons. I also ran a hostel in a place called Tagong in Sichuan China. Both were fantastic experiences, althoughthe bar work nearly killed me.

Enough about travelling, I enjoy reading, the movies, horse riding, trekking and of course new people and cultures. I suppose trekking is my number one passion and try to do of much of it as possible

I am pretty easy going and independent so no one will have to look after me, but some local knowledge is always good.

Being Irish, I like a beer or three and am pretty sociable. That's it I suppose for now.

I have heard so much about couch surfing but never tried. I suppose what I want out of it is to experience what it is like to live in a country as opposeed to hostels where often you can not get a hold on the place you are in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Antarctica, went on a cruise for eleven days, amazing!
saw penguins, seals, walrusses and of course iceberg the size of the empire state building.

As already said, would love to involve myself in other cultures and traditions.

As I have been around I feel that I have a good perspective on what is importatnt and perhaps I could pass this on.
