About Me
Hello! I'm Enes, and I was born on Turkey’s Aegean coast. Therefore, I love olive oil dishes and rakı. I am a film student in Istanbul. Considering that Istanbul is a city ruled by cats, I must also say that I love cats.
So far, I have made two films. With the first one, I received a scholarship from a film school in Paris, which allowed me to spend the summer of 2023 in Paris. Later, I crossed paths with Paris again through an Erasmus program. I have been living here for about five months now.
If I were to talk about my interests, I'm into media studies and urban studies. I enjoy discussing politics. Marx, Lenin and David Harvey have played a big role in shaping my political consciousness. I'm an ally to minority rights, including migrants, women, and the LGBTQ+ movement. I often go to jazz concerts. I particularly like artists such as Art Blakey, BB King, Erik Truffaz, Ibrahim Maalouf, and Charles Mingus.
Besides that, meeting new people, going to unknown places, and doing things I’ve never done before have always made me feel alive. Now, for this reason, I have decided to hitchhike back to Istanbul from Paris. I want to give away many of my belongings here, travel lightly, and be on the road for a month. What I'm seeking is not a touristy trip. It's to meet people who share the same concerns and hopes and to, even if for a short while, immerse myself in local life in the cities I visit.
I don't smoke, so if there are any rules about it at home, it won’t be a problem for me. Also, if you need help with household chores, I'd be happy to assist.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I thought it would be logical to use this site both because I need it economically and because I want to meet local people in the cities I visit. Thanks!

It ıs accepted from La Fémis, a film school in Paris. I attend there with ambassade scholarship and meet with other 14 participants coming from all around the world. Young film students from everywhere. It was a non-eu program so i met with cool friends from every continent. We spent summer together by making films, watching films and talking about films :) It was like a two month from heaven. I miss those days.
