Resumen
Sobre mí
Research assistant and MA student of political science at Bogazici University, Istanbul. Opened my account here around 6 years ago though never have travelled abroad ever since and only hosted in Istanbul, where I am based. I only recently found the chance to update my profile here as I made it to Tel Aviv, one of the most important go-to places on my travel bucket list.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I want to broaden and enrich my atlas of places and people. Learning about novelties is best possible through sharing experiences, food, traversing and breathing the city through locals' standpoint.
Intereses
I have always been keen on reading, regardless of whether the text is academic or literary, which explains a lot regarding my major and career choices. I find literary works of different nations extremely useful and illuminative in terms of getting a gaze on how dwellers of a city or a country experience their lives, their customs, their do-s and don't-s, how they perceive the space they live in, and so forth. Therefore, I would really love to be introduced to the literary works of the countries I visit.
This might not come as a surprise but I love writing too, which over time has become almost a physical need. You can be sure I will record every single impression I have of you and your city in minute detail!

Música, películas y libros
My music taste is extremely confusing that even I have a hard time summing up its definitive points. I can tell you that I enjoy oldies and vintage music more than I do contemporary music, though. To provide a brief and objective gaze into my music habits, these are the top 10 artists I've listened to throughout this month (according to Spotify stats, no cheating!):
Amália Rodrigues, Arik Einstein, Sade, Milva, Zuhal Olcay.
Following a similar vein, here you have the last 5 books I've read in a couple months (according to my Goodreads profile, again very objective!):
My Michael by Amos Oz
Workers on the Nile: Nationalism, Communism, Islam, and the Egyptian Working Class, 1882-1954 by Michael Beinin
Party System Change: Approaches and Interpretations by Peter Mair
Yenişehir'de Bir Öğle Vakti by Sevgi Soysal
Secular Translations by Talal Assad
Algo increíble que he hecho
Signing up for this site maybe? Not really sure, I've come to terms with the dullness of my life a long time ago.
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Cultural exchange: I love discovering the similarities and differences between where I am from and where I am visiting. This exchange encompasses a very large pallet: from the gestures and mimics to trashy pop songs and impressions on how people live, laugh, cry, and make friendships in different contexts.q
