About Me

I am curious person who is literally interested about everything. From science, to philosophy, to politics, to religion. In every aspect of life I have things that I learned and want to share. I honestly haven’t traveled a lot previously but I have been in America twice. During my visit I stayed in DC, New York, Connecticut, and Vermont. As this visit was for academic purposes I was mostly in academic institutions such as Yale University, Catholic University of America, Champlain College, and SIT (School of International Training). Additionally in December of this year I will be in University of Cambridge to give talk on an academic work I have done in Iraq. As for my future I am a senior high school student. I want to major in Mathematics and my love towards this field is eternal!

I am new to CS and I have already made some friends! This great application not only is a great source to know diverse people but a hope to have a connected world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To expose myself more to the world. My philosophy says that we all belong to earth, and what divide us is stupid borders put by people we sometimes don’t even know. So by joining Couchsurfing first I want to teach people more about my country, language, cultures, traditions and at the same time learn more about theirs!

Interests

I am very interested in Mathematics particularly topics like Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory and Combinatorics fascinates me.

I am also interested in cultures other than my own. Coming from Iraq also known as Mesopotamia one of the most diverse countries I was fascinated to learn about cultures and different beliefs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a non-profit organization in Iraq called We Change. This organization started with 4 10th graders including me to bring volunteering experiences to both high school and college students. We have implemented a lot of activities in schools, universities, nursing homes, orphanages and other public places. You can find our Instagram page if you write (@wechange.iq). All what we do is free and implemented by grants and donations we receive. We have science team, reading books team, debate team, environment team, nursing homes and orphanages team. If you ever come to Iraq and want to engage never hesitate to contact and participate with our initiatives ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

There are several things that I can share;

-Cultures in Iraq: Iraq contains many ethnic groups such as Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Yazidis, Shabak, Chaldeans, Assyrians, Armenians, and etc. Each of the ethic groups do have their own cultures and traditions. Often people forget to mention most of them and focus only on Arabs and Kurds. I would love to represent each one of them to the host!

-Religions in Iraq: Iraq also contains a lot of religions like Islam, Christianity, Yazidism, Mandaesim, Yarsanizm, and etc. I would love to explain each one if them and their beliefs.

-History and historical places of Iraq: Of course who didn’t hear about Mesopotamia! I would first love to explain more about the history of Mesopotamia with Sumerians, Assyrians, Akkadians, Babylonians and other groups who lived in the region with explaining known people like Sargon of Akkad, Hammurabi, Nabopollasar, Ashur Banipal and etc. I will also show the host the historical places of Iraq how to go to them if they are interested or simply what they resemble.

-Science: I can show the host important findings of the mesopotamians and also I can talk science in general. I am very interested particularly in Mathematics and Physics, I have read a lot of academic books and planning to major in Mathematics.

-Arabic: As a native speaker I can also teach Arabic for the people who are interested as well!

-Anything other: Talk with me about anything!
