About Me
**NOTE**
I'm on the move and unfortunately cannot host right now. I hope to get back to it someday but for now, I'm doing a little roaming.
**/NOTE**
I'm friendly, outgoing, and easy to talk to. Though I do like to tell stories, I much prefer hearing about others. I'm very physically active, whether it's hiking, running, biking, or martial arts. I quit my last, unsatisfying job and decided to spend some time traveling the world.
One thing I find when talking about myself is that my job never comes up in the beginning of a conversation. Instead, it usually comes up in the middle or end. While I do take work seriously, I find that there is so much else out there to learn, understand, and enjoy!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking to meet people around the world, learn new languages, and understand other cultures better. I'm looking for deep, intellectual conversation. I want to experience different approaches to life, and learn how to be a better person by interacting with others.
Interests
I love being out in nature. Hiking is my favorite thing to do because I can so easily lose myself in the surrounding natural beauty. When I'm not out in nature, I'm usually training martial arts, specifically Judo and Gung Fu.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite Books: Anything with an intellectual and captivating story. Most fantasy books, including epic fantasy. Current favorite books are anything by Brandon Sanderson or Neil Gaiman. I love Patrick Rothfuss, but damn it - finish Doors of Stone already!
Favorite Music: Wide taste in music, but definitely leaning more towards electronic and house. Always willing to try something new, so give me something to listen to!
Favorite Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars, Fight Club Mononoke Hime, Oldboy, Requiem for a Dream
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done lots of amazing, crazy, and arguably stupid things. I've won a state championship in Judo when I was 14 and section-hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail (with the intent to either section hike all of it or thru-hike it in one shot). I have been deeply involved in a martial arts-oriented school and household. Most recently, I quit my job, packed my bags, and left to travel SE Asia and Eastern Europe for a few months.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English and how to fight - either in self-defense or for competition. I can share my stories, experiences, and knowledge of computers, networking, and electronics, as well as all of the other random things I happen to know.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories, misadventures, intellectual conversation, philosophy, martial arts, barefoot habits (yes, I often run and move about barefoot, or close to it!)
I consider myself a gracious guest and would be happy to help with anything!
