ABOUT ME

I live in HOBART. I'm straighforward and tolerant, I won't talk you to sleep, I love to hear travel stories, and I appreciate the weird and wonderful. Not really into serious conversations....well...only if I start them!

I enjoy a good film - I watch a lot of foreign and alternative films and my friends have learned to change the subject when I ask if they would like to see a movie with me...as some of my movie choices have been less than fantastic!
I'm not a night owl, don't go out clubbing and don't usually drink much - although I do appreciate a nice wine or beer.
On weekends I may stay in bed and read my favourite books with a cup of tea and toast before I get up and potter around. Speaking of animals I have a lovely red Doberman dog who is part of the family.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

To learn about the world, and myself. It's a great way to meet new people as I can be a bit shy.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing guests from Finland were lovely. I have joined CS to hear about what life is like in the rest of the world. I am certainly looking forward to future travel, but I really admire people who take 3 months or more to travel around the world. I want to know what the world is like out there.

Interessi

I must admit i have moved on from Cross-stitch and knitting (although they still have their meditative qualities). I love to have friends over to my house and enjoy cooking for people. There are also the most beautiful bushwalks amoung the mountain tops only 1.5 hours from where I live.
Love to read (currently reading a book by an Australian about his Couch Surfing experiences - and it is hillarious!), learing to cook new things - I find myself making the same things whilst buying lots of new cookbooks to inspire me.... heh heh.
I enjoy architecture and cities as much as a beautiful landscape.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

My father took me on a sunrise Hot Air Balloon flight many years ago and I have always treasured that memory. Love the architecture of Gaudi in Spain and the wonderful modern buildings in London.
I also love my little city of Hobart on the banks of the Derwent River.
