About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Facing my fears.

ABOUT ME

I am kind of a full-time traveler. After finishing my studies, I left and since then worked, lived and traveled in different countries. In 2014 was the first time where I just traveled for a while without staying somewhere for longer. Although it's been amazing, I prefer working in places and staying for a while, so that I can understand them. I love the getting to know and I love the leaving as well. No matter where I've been during the last years, I always participated to my experiences and dived into the worlds I encountered. Some of them really kicked my ass and some just been like an unexpected present.

Freedom is a big thing for me as might be for every traveler.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed some couches in Europe and Australia. Best experience so far: Arriving in Bologna (Italy) and couldn't find a hostel. So I went to a bar, had a rum and coke and decided to spend the night out instead of spending a fortune on a hotel room. In the meanwhile I posted on couchsurfing that I need a couch, but didn't really believe in finding one. At 1 am in the morning (where it just turned out that all the bars are shutting down soon) I got a phone call and ended up having a warm place for the night, a nice breakfast and good conversation with a guy who traveled the world for years.

Interests

music, concerts, writing, good conversations, philosophizing about life, reading, cooking...
My interests are depending a lot on the places I am at. I am carrying a few from place to place though: my backpack full of books, my music collection, my desire to analyze and my love to nature, being outside and getting to know people, cultures, countries.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like books which are novels, but not stories. Which focus on the things between the lines, capturing feelings, reasons and the things behind the scenes. My current favourites: Hermann Hesse, Henry Miller

Music: Oh yeah, music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one? The best things I've ever done was to leave the safe path I was wandering on. What means safe? For my internal world it never been safe, but for my future and career and blabla...Whatever, since then sometimes I look back and can barely believe that all the things that happened so far. Although it mostly is the people around you who are making your experiences special, I as well experienced very lonesome times which in the end been an amazing thing I've done. For example spending 2 weeks in a forest monastery in Thailand. Or living 4 months in an old circus caravan in the Bavarian forest. Sometimes I'm longing to strive off the unnecessary. Or doing a hitch-hiking trip through Italy, Austria and Switzerland. I love these situations, where life just has to catch you and you completely have to rely on your intuition. The people I encountered on my hitch-hiking trips, the homes I've been invited to, the cheerfulness of people made these trips absolutely unforgettable!
