About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Self-domination

ABOUT ME

Getting a PhD in philosophy 'cause I'm passionate about it and want to write and teach it for a lot of the rest of my life. I help run a summer camp in the middle of Utah. I'm eager to make meaningful connections with other people. Was raised religious and was very committed to it until some life changing experiences in my early twenties. Now I'm just as committed to not being religious (or, rather, my passionate commitments are all non-religious). So, I don't really do anything halfway. Capoeira Angola is a big part of my life. I love Boston. Traveled a lot in Asia and a bit in Mexico, but my first trip to Europe will be in January!

PHILOSOPHY

Ol' Hank said it best: I wish to suck out all the marrow of life. 'nuff said.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

in couchsurfing? Well, I'm just getting started, so we'll see.....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None with this website, but the second time I went to India I didn't make any lodging arrangements, leaving my fate in the hands of Shiva. I met a great guy on his way back to India to visit his family and they graciously took me in for my first night there. I've hitchhiked through parts of the states (including along the Lonliest Road in America). So, I've had good experiences meeting people as I travel and I'd like to continue doing so.

Teach, Learn, Share

Extensive knowledge of the history of philosophy (including contemporary); some knowledge of the history of science as well as contemporary cognitive science. Years of experience working with teenagers. Motorcycle license. Some carpentry experience. Can teach basic Capoeira classes. Also am fortunate enough to have met and befriended really wonderful, incredible people who are good at a lot of the things I'm not. But I AM good at connecting others ;).
