About Me

*** COUCHSURFING IS NOT A DATING APP. CREEPY DUDES WILL BE REPORTED***

Filmmaker, solo traveler, lover of all creatures big and small, sometimes a leader and other times a passive observer of the human condition. Here to learn and expand my skill sets.

Chameleon in nature, subject to whatever I'm pouring myself into, over. Super into Scandinavian films, and watching/filming circus arts and ritual theater, butoh, ballet... performance art across all media. Compelled by interesting lighting. Soundtracks and music with depth. Live symphonic orchestras.

Currently living in LA, after traveling around the states for the past 2 years, working as a freelance videographer with cirque and festival performers. Studied filmmaking in Florence, Italy. Spent last fall as a volunteer at the Reykjavik International Film Festival, and am coming to London to work the BFI Flare LGBT Film Festival! Seeking hosts for any number of nights between March 19th and April 4th. ** have 19-21st covered!

I'll be at the film festival everyday, but also looking to explore. Need a safe place for gear. Very tidy. Been living out of a suitcase and sleeping in a sleeping bag for over a year and a half now so I'm very low maintenance. Content with just floorspace and the basics.

Also here to find interesting individuals to film along their journeys. A quiet place to edit the footage is also important.

Vimeo.com/jennraptor if you'd like to have a look at my demo reels. More content in progress as I'm still catching up.

Be humbled, not hardened.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch surfing was essentially my life during a great deal of 2008, and my current existence for over a year and a half in Denver/California/across the united states.

Interests

Food (cooking it or appreciating someone else's cooking, whether at home or out and about), Nature Videography (I dig capturing the local flora and fauna, ever-changing palette of sky, people following their natural grooves, etc), Music (listening or composing), Wine (I'm new to the scene, learning much via my job, but I would love to work at a vineyard at some point in life), more to be added later..
