ABOUT ME
Oh the obligatory talk about myself section. I'm a 32 year old who loves spending time outside in beautiful places. I'm more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt and getting my hands dirty than I am getting dressed up and going out. Give me Xtratufs over high heels any day. I'm very laid back and open-minded. I get along easily with pretty much anybody. I love live music, great food, genuine people. I enjoy getting different experiences out of a place, more local, as opposed to mainstream tourism. Not big on partying anymore, but love spending time with great people. I would love to have a dog but I move around too much right now to do that to an animal. Cheers!
PHILOSOPHY
I try to live a life based on happiness and treating others well. I figure if I'm smiling, if I'm healthy, if I love others, then I don't have that bad.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As of right now, only a surfer. I don't really have a permanent dwelling, as I try to work seasonal jobs so I can move around the US.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been signed up for awhile but haven't taken advantage of the community quite yet, so I'm still a newbie. I'm ready to jump in though.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Not a movie but obsessed with Planet Earth, Life, David Attenborough in general (but I do love a good comedy or thriller)
Music: Amos Lee, Grateful Dead, Ryan Adams, James Brown, Beatles and Zeppelin of course (if it's got funk than I'm dancin)
Books: Mostly nature writing, The Mutant Message Down Under, The Wild Trees, and Dolphin Dreamtime to name a few
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I kayaked with a small pod of 6 or 7 full-sized humpback whales in southeast Alaska. They surfaced within 3 to 5 meters!! Incredibly exciting, incredibly scary!
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I've worked a couple of summers in Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska on a tour boat. So, I like to think I'm pretty knowledgeable on Alaska in general, whales, bears and other wildlife, glaciers, what have you.
