Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel and get to know locals, and also host people and make new friends. On that note, I have met great people with this site but unfortunately a few flaky people. Please don't ask to be hosted and then don't show and don't reply. It's impolite, inconsiderate and rude. I am writing this because a few people have done that, and not just to me, to people I know, and yet, they have great references. I understand that plans change and sometimes situations can change but it's not too difficult to let people know.

It's unfortunate that I have to write this, but I think it's important to let people know that my house is not a hotel, and the same way you want me to respect you, I want you to respect me.

Just like life, there are a lot good things on here and some bad, and overall the experiences have been great.
