Currently biding my time until I can travel once more- traveling vicariously through other surfers
ABOUT ME
Born Berkeley, CA. Graduated high school in Lewiston, Idaho. Attended Univ. of Idaho, Washington State Univ., U.C. Berkeley,Boise State University,University of Edinburgh, Northwest Nazarene University (i.e. excessive amount of formal education) Teach elementary P.E. Have for 40+ years. Retired. Have traveled to 5 continents. Taught in Scotland. Traveled to Japan several times. Have hosted 6 Japanese students for summer language programs. Spent 6 weeks in Italy(3 times). 2 summers (Western Hemisphere) in Australia. People-to-People ambassador to China (Beijing - area sports focus). Most recent (Nov 2011) travel spent 27 days in the Nederlands. Have 3 koi ponds in back yard (see below). Cat lover. Slightly crazy - 35 years of teaching elementary kids will do that to you. Like intelligent conversation. Contemplation. Enjoy quiet times. Comfortable with self.
Have a cat that permits me to live in her space. Have 3 koi ponds. 30+ koi. Oldest 40 years. Involved with local, northwest and national koi groups. Currently president of the Pacific Northwest Koi Clubs. Have visited koi folks in Europe and Australia.

I have hosted many people both seniors and young people. I attend local CS events
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
not really couch surfing, but have hosted several exchange student from Japan over summers
I have not personally couch surfed through CS. I have stayed in hostels and stayed with friends.
I have hosted many CS folks since 2007.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
many to choose from - walking the Great Wall of China, skin diving the great barrier reef, walking Hadrian's Wall, Palio Horse race in Sienna (Istrice won!) climbing Mt. Fuji, 500+ miles backpacking in the Idaho wilderness areas

I am an AKCA certified koi health advisor (fish geek) and a K.O.I. certified koi keeper.
Gourmet cook...i.e. enjoy eating a little too much.

What I Can Share with Hosts
Knowledgeable about local history, cultural activities. Keep an assortment of maps and pamphlets on what to do in Boise and the surrounding area,
