Overview
About Me
My name is Ryan. I have lived in South Florida, West Texas and all over NM. I am currently located in Albuquerque, New Mexico!
I am in a medical school program full-time. I have 1 more year left as a student. When I am not studying, I'm fixing things around the house, gardening, working out, hiking and planning my next adventure.
I am down to earth and friendly. I love hosting and learning about other cultures, traditions, travels and more. I want to welcome you to my home in the beautiful southwest!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am budget traveler. I prefer to mingle with locals rather than stay in an all-inclusive. I like hearing stories from other travelers, getting tips and offering advice.
Interests
I am somewhat nerdy. I value my education and I am a lifelong learner. When my nose isnt in the books; I am outside, enjoying the sunshine and the big, wide open blue skies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A couple of summers ago, I had the privilege of traveling to Peru with an organization that provides medical relief to children and families in need. After arriving in Lima I traveled by bus to Huancayo to visit the major hospital and the clinics in the surrounding neighborhoods. From Huancayo, I went to La Merced and set up health clinics in town centers throughout the area. With the help of the Lions Club, I was trained to perform eye exams and I handed out nearly 2,000 prescription eyeglasses in both cities. It was a humbling, tiring and worthwhile experience. I would like to do it again in the future.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about the southwest and how to make a mean chocolate chip, oatmeal, peanut butter cookie. I love learning new languages and trying new foods too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories - I love a good story. I love stories that make people laugh. I can, also, share a couple recipes (queso, anyone?) and tips for traveling through the US. I also love sharing coffee with my guests, making enchiladas and going on hikes!
