Overview
About Me
I like exploring the world we live in, its cultures and its people. I'm curious about everything! I like reading all kinds of books, fiction and nonfiction, ranging from evolutionary psychology to quantum physics. I believe in the goodness of human kind, and that we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously.
My life philosophy is that every moment is perfect, and wishing for something that we don't have is most often a self-inflicted punishment. Life is a lot easier if you just go with the flow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most people when they travel, they stay at a hotel, go to the places pointed out in their travel guide... They hardly ever get the citizen's experience, and this is what I find most interesting. Yes, there are places that are worth seeing that are also on the travel guides, but I like the secrets, the niches and the holes-in-the-walls that tourists don't usually visit. I feel that in order to get this kind of experience, it's better to meet the locals.
That said, I like doing the same for people that come to Paris. There are plenty of places that are "reserved" for those that live here, and it's a different way of falling in love with the city. When I can, I like to take people to these places so they can see another side of Paris.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bensé, Our Lady Peace, Coldplay, Juanes, Damien Rice, Kenna... Oscar Wilde, Shakespeare, Gabriel Gracia Marquez, Jared Diamond, Malcolm Gladwell, Emile Zola ... The Darjeeling Limited, Religulous, Garden State, Little Miss Sunshine, Hahaha, I need to see more recent films :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hiked down to the Colorado River at the Grand Canyon, north ridge. It was a lot easier that I thought it would be. But I never thought I would actually do it.
Also meeting an elephant in Vietnam (I didn’t ride her though, I know it’s not fair to the animal)
And finally kayaking in Halong Bay in Vietnam.

Perception is reality.
« You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do. » ER again :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
An interesting conversation, lots of questions, some (hopefully funny) sarcasm, interesting useless facts.... I can also make a box and a flower out of paper, and I may even play the piano, if one is available (though I am very shy about it, so it's a gamble)....
