ABOUT ME
I am currently a master's student in Aachen Germany, but I have been lived the previous 10ish years in Portland Oregon. While I'm studying Electrical Power Engineering at the moment I have been a working musician my whole adult life. I used to have an original music project back in Portland. If you're interested you can see some of our work here: http://www.youtube.com/soundsemantics
I have always been passionate about what I do and I love meeting new people and hearing what makes them tick.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is that if you believe the world will treat you right, and you behave as if it will, far more often than not you will be proven right.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
One of my previous roommates was a fairly active couchsurfer and so I helped with the hosting of several people at our house. This video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps8jjW4KHoI&feature=share&list=PL0A7AFAF050CDC7F4&index=39 was actually filmed in part by one of the couchsurfers we hosted.
My brother is also a very, very active couchsurfer and last summer when he was back in portland he hosted quite a few people. While we weren't living in the same place I did get a few chances to interact with some those surfers
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed myself a few times with my former duo. One particularly successful time was in Humbolt County California. We were playing a show in Arcata and stayed with another band who were just fantastic.
Interests
I love music, politics, electricity, innovation, good conversation, cooking, walking around, and coincidences to name a few.

Music, Movies, and Books
Top 4 bands at the moment are: Beatles, Avett Brothers, Elliot Smith and Radiohead.
3 great books that come to mind are: Reservation Blues (Sherman Alexi), Everything Is Illuminated (Jonathan Safran Foer), and The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (Michael Chabon)
A few good moives: Dogma, Inception, Momento, The Bourne Movies (those are like brain candy for me)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While this sounds a bit cliche, I worked on a cruise ship for one summer in Alaska and one of the most amazing things I've seen was the Glaciers there calving (huge chunks of ice falling into water with thunder like sound). Alaska in general was one of the view places I've been where I lost all ability to gauge distances and sizes because everything was just so much larger than life.
