About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To let the good things in life echo clearly through me
ABOUT ME
The two most interesting aspects of life are
1) people and all their "isms", "ifications" and "ologies"; and 2) programming/making/creating.
I'm a people watcher, conversationalist, media consumer, cultural commentator, absent-minded fool, opinionated curmudgeon.
I'm happiest when I'm meeting a stream of interesting people and when I'm making progress in whatever programming projects.
PHILOSOPHY
Evil doesn't exist, only misunderstanding and disconnect.
"I burn my candle at both ends,
It will not last the night.
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends,
It gives a lovely light."
â Edna St. Vincent Millay
"And we believed that everyone was scared like little lost children in their grown up clothes and poses
So we ended up alone here floating through long wasted days, or great tribulations.
While everything felt wrong
Good words, strong words, words that could've moved mountains
Words that no one ever said
We were all waiting to hear those words and no one ever said them
And the tactics never hatched
And the plans were never mapped
And we all learned not to believe
And strange lonesome monsters loafed through the hills wondering why"

Music, Movies, and Books
Movie Greats: The Whale Rider, The Fountain, Doctor Zhivago, Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe?, Lawrence of Arabia, Apocalypse Now, Children of Men, The Squid and the Whale, Dogville, Gattaca, Bicentennial Man, The Truman Show, Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, Hook, and other stuff if it has the color brown in it
Music Self: I like the sound of nodes and arcs, combined with love and understanding ;)
Reads: neuroscience books, religion books, William Gibson, Orson Scott Card, coming of age novels; I'm a slow reader :/
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I participated in a human subjects experiment by NASA. In order to test the effects of weightlessness on the body, I volunteered to lay in bed for three straight months without sitting up or getting out of bed once. It may sound crazy, but it actually wasn't that bad. I learned quite a bit about myself and read a ton. Totally worth it :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I am passionate about psychology, computer programming, some computer security, complexity, and cognition.
