HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Was traveling for a long while and let my CS profile go inactive. But now that I'm settled and have a couch of my own, I'm excited to do some hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like a lot of things, but pretty consistently Nina Simone, Astor Piazzolla, Fela. Right now I am into Bach cello suites and Sanford Clark
Movies: my favorites are Le Mepris, Paris is Burning, Ten (Kiarostami), Sergio Leone... documentaries, and narrative that blurs the line with documentary
Books: at the moment I am reading The Mayor of Casterbridge (over the past two years I have fallen hard for 19th century Brit Lit). I also like some things by Naipaul and Kundera; some things by Kapuscinski. Howards End, Slouching Towards Bethlehem, The Fire Next Time, Invisible Cities. George Eliot. Agatha Christie. Edith Wharton. Jane Austen. Chess books, popular Economics and Psychology, political histories of the US and West Africa. Man, I really could go on and on...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Colorado Plateau. I've roadtripped there twice in the past three years, but would go back a thousand times.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn new recipes, and can also teach you a few. I always like meeting people who can turn me on to new music. I'm pretty good with book recommendations. I'd love to learn tango.
