Über mich

I am a Malaysian, ethnic Chinese, height 174cm, weight 60kg 😆

CURRENT MISSION

Change the education system, hahahaha

ABOUT ME
A teacher. Single, usually read when free.

PHILOSOPHY

In ignorance, I await for my own surprises.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't mind a copy paste request because as a couchsurfer myself, I know it takes time to look for hosts and write them request. Just at least get my name right when you send a request, please use 'Tan' instead of 'Eric' 😏

It has been a while since my last participation in couchsurfing as I was busy with studies. But, I am back with my own apartment, so I am looking forward to hosting again. If I can't host, I will bring people around. I like to share Malaysian cultures in terms of language, society, foods, education etc.

There are potentially two places where I can host, Melaka and Johor Bahru. It totally depends on where I am. So, just need to check the 'current city' to confirm.
As I am living in a condo and I didn't buy an extra access card, you will either have to leave the condo with me when I go to work or you can stay at home (but it's going to be very boring) and wait for me to come back during lunch or after work.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a host, I try my best to make the surfer feels comfortable. As a surfer, I try my best to minimize the possible troubles to my host.
So far, I have no complaint. All the hosts were great and I was treated nicely by the hosts. Some cook, some very patience, some very trustful.

But also the following:
1. When I put preferred gender as 'any', I do mean any gender. Unlike some male hosts who put 'any' but they only accept female couchsurfer (not that they are bad people, just dishonest)

2. I don't judge the couchsurfer based on their appearance (or based on anything physical). After all, physical look has nothing to do with being a good, nice couchsurfer.

3. When I put 'accept last minute couch request', I do mean I accept last minute couchrequest. Of course some compromise has to be done such as if I am at work, we will have to work on what time you should come or if I have a pre-scheduled meeting, we will have to meet after that. I will definitely not write 'this is last minute, I can't host you'. We just need to work on the time together.

4. When I put available to accept couch request (I will put in my profile if I am not available), I will definitely accept it. Unlike some hosts, for some reasons, they reject you even though they put available with all sorts of funny/interesting reasons such as 'is my birthday', 'I need to work', 'I happen to have other commitments on those days', and last but not least 'I will be out of town'. Some even copy-paste the reason given to someone else and forgot to change the name or put that they prefer to host on weekday but when upon request, they told you they have to work on weekday 🤦
(those were my 'couchsurfing experience' 🤭)
