About Me
A friendly American looking to travel the world, make lifelong friends, learn about the world, and experience meaningful travel. I like to travel and meet new people, so some of my favorite travel memories are just taking with locals. I’m really interested in learning about the history of any country I visit, so maybe I’ll ask you lots of questions. I’m really interested in the idea of meaningful travel and I’m currently trying to think of ways to make travel experiences meaningful, educational, and productive if I can - I’m open to any new ideas. I don’t want to just check countries off of my checklist, but I really want to get to know the people and have a good time. I also really love the outdoors so let’s go into nature if we can. I also love learning languages and hope to continue studying more in the future. Please let me know if you have questions or if I can make you more comfortable.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting new people and traveling. I want to experience places differently than the way normal hotels can offer. Honestly, I also try to not spend lots of money because I make a modest living as a teacher. Some of my favorite memories include talking to locals over several days - especially getting to know the staff at hostels - so I think Couchsurfing is a good opportunity to do that.
Interests
Film, Pokémon, creativity, writing, books, comics, music, food, superheroes, history, languages, coffee, video games, board games, exercise, health, nature, hiking, relaxing, swimming, running, fashion, and more.
Music, Movies, and Books
Almost everything. I love Netflix, folk music, and reading books by foreign authors. I like books and movies that make you think and music that has poetry behind the words. I’m also really into comic books and Game of Thrones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to Korea to teach English when I was very nervous about leaving my hometown.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach English in South Korea, I can speak 3 languages fairly well, and I love to meet new people. I can tell out about my experiences and I’m happy to answer questions related to learning English (I hope to be an English professor one day). I can also tell you about my experiences in Asia. I hope I can learn about your country and its history.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share a drink and a conversation. I can cook and I’m a quiet guest. I enjoy both quiet nights in with games or movies, and exploring the local nightlife (although I’m not a heavy drinker). I can tell you about my experiences in Asia, and my knowledge of languages. I can also share with you about what I’ve learned about history in the world. Mostly I can lend my ear and listen to anything interesting you have to say. I also like to stay fit so if there’s any activity, or something you need help with, I can share my company.
