About Me

Travel enthusiast and French and Spanish Teacher in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA. I lived abroad in Liège, Belgium and I studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I last couchsurfed in 2015 so it's been a while! I am visiting Finland, the Baltic States and then teaching English in Poland this Summer and looking to do go back to the good 'ol days when I couchsurfed my way though Northern Europe.

I currently live in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, with my partners Cody and Cameron and dog, Hugo.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just love to travel and as a teacher I know all too well the struggle of financing it.

I really enjoyed the last time I couchsurfed in 2015. It was an amazing experience. I recently traveled to Dublin in January and to France in March. For France, I stayed with a family outside Libourne as part of an exchange I did as a High School foreign language teacher. We took 10 kids with us. This coming November I am taking nearly a 100 people to France and Spain as part of a school trip! This Summer, I am teaching English in Poland as part of a Sister City exchange and this is when I'm hoping to couchsurf.

Interests

Travel, languages, old houses, typewriters. I love traveling and I also love old things! It doesn't take a lot to fascinate me, I don't need to see major monuments, I like to see the daily places where people live.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the movie Titanic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first country I visited in Europe was Luxembourg, for a week.
Then I lived in Belgium for a year.
Then I went back to Belgium and did my thesis work in a suburb of Brussels, having to gain the trust of the local people in order to interview them.
Now, after Covid, as an a teacher, I am getting to travel again!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very open-minded and very respectful. I may be traveling with a colleague for whom this would be her first time in Europe. I like to think I am a somewhat interesting person haha!
