Hello! I’m Eric. I live on a narrowboat with my wife, Bryony; and our cat, Pru.

A narrowboat is a traditional(ish) boat found on the English canals. They are long, skinny vessels with all the comforts of home! Think of it as a small one-bed apartment on water.

We would love to host and meet new people, so before requesting, please just be aware that it is not a house, and some things are a little different. E.g. the toilet will have to be explained to you, and we live almost off-grid, so while you are welcome to charge your gadgets we can’t always power high-consumption things like hair-dryers for example.

CURRENT MISSION

Currently working to pay some debts and refurbish our boat.
The ultimate goal is to get out and cruise the entire inland waterway system, operating our own businesses on the move.
Unfortunately I don’t get a lot of holidays at the moment, but I want to see whatever I can while I’m young. (This is what is referred to as a ‘catch 22’.

ABOUT ME

Friendly, skateboards, collects records, vegan, boat dweller, working too much, still learning about adult life.
I work as a signwriter and graphic designer. I’m learning the art of traditional sign painting, at work and at home. My ambition is to be a travelling sign painter on the canals and rivers of Britain, and perhaps some day overseas?

Hitch-hiked from London to Portugal, and Barclona, on separate occasions. Not amazing but kind of a big deal for me. Married the love of my life.

I can try to teach skateboarding, sign painting skills..
I'd like to learn some DIY skills, and share good food. My wife and I can talk for hours about sustainability and eco-conscious lifestyle.
