About Me

Hello all you lovely people out there!
I have just finished a 20,000km road trip across Canada! Island to island and then some.
I play guitar (over 8 years), practice martial arts (over 16 years) and jump at the chance to cook for others!
I have an unquenchable thirst for meeting new people and exploring new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am attempting couchsurfing for the first time! I just landed an exciting job and am looking for friendly places to crash while i find my own pad. I would greatly appreciate anyone who would be willing to have me in their home while I make the apartment hunting rounds.

Interests

Guitar, yoga, martial arts, fitness and the gym, reading, travel and adventure, cocktails and wine, food of all kinds, going out with friends, staying in for a movie, road trips, camping, alternative medicine, off the grid housing, permaculture and gardening.

Music, Movies, and Books

I generally go for non fiction books and documentaries but I do love a good comedy or action flic. Don't get me started on Kung Fu movies, you might not get me to stop.
As far as music goes I'm pretty easy, I love it all from blues to reggae to electronic to folk to metal. I can't say I enjoy a lot of country music but I'm always willing to hear out something new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my University days I was a competitive Martial Artist (GoJu Ryu Karate and ITF Tae Kwon Do). I have competed in provincial, all Canada and even North American tournaments and won my fair share of events. Today I train in the same way a yogi would train; for healthy mind, body and spirit. Next year I will be headed to China to train in a traditional Kung Fu academy.

Joining a traditional martial arts club is by far the most rewarding and important thing I have ever done in my life. Training in the martial arts offers a great deal of life lessons; confidence, understanding, history, anatomy, channeling energy, fitness, health and a continuing list of chances to enlighten yourself and learn every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am able to teach guitar to anyone who would like to learn a little. I am also willing to share my skills in the kitchen, behind the bar or even about wine culture.
As far as Martial Arts goes I am willing to teach to those who are interested for the right reasons. That being said, I do not believe that any single lesson can offer what is needed to become proficient in self-defense.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, skills, conversation and laughter plus ill cook for you everyday lol
