I am a Chinese. My hometown is in Jingzhou City, Hubei province, but when I finished my first school, our family moved to Changsha city which is the capital of Hunan province. I lived there for more than 10 years. Changsha city is popular for spicy food. If you like it, maybe you can try in the future. When I graduated from high school, I would like to live independently. I choose Hohai University to start my new journey far away from Changsha. Hohai University is famous for civil engineering, especially hydraulic and hydrological engineering, so I choose hydraulic engineering as my major. Now I am a master student, I have stayed in Nanjing city for seven years. During the period of my Bachelor and Master degree, I get a chance to make friends from all parts of China, and even from other countries. I am so appreciated what they shared with me about culture, food, travel and perspectives. In the recent future, I will go to the University of Hong Kong or the University of New South Wales to be a PhD student in September. I always have an open mind to fields that I don’t know and spare no effort to discover and explore the World.

Interests
Football is at the top of my interests. When I was a high school student, I started to watch football. If my memory is correct, I heard the World Cup in South Africa in 2010 from radio rather than video, mainly because I had a lot of school work to deal with at school and we were not allowed to watch TV at that time. To be honest, Hearing football matches with my friends is a good memory. My favourite football player and football club are Messi and the Manchester Unit, respectively. So I’m actually a red devil.

Photography. Nowadays, I would like to learn how to take a good picture and how to make a Vlog. This is a good way to record your life. Pics can freeze highlight moment. This year, I travelled to Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing with my parents, I rent a camera (Canon 5D Mark III) to record the moment with my family. We went to Shanghai Disneyland Park in Shanghai, the West Lake in Hangzhou, and the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing. During this journey, I took plenty of photos and got used to knowing about taking a good picture. For recording frames and pictures, I bought a sports camera called GoPro Hero Black 7.

Travel: Generally speaking, I travel to a specific place every year in China or abroad. The cities where I have travelled includes Changsha(长沙), Wuhan(武汉), Chengdu(成都), Hong Kong(香港), Shanghai(上海), Beijing(北京), Shenzhen(深圳), Hangzhou(杭州), Nanning(南宁), Nanjing(南京), Wuxi(无锡), Wuhu(芜湖), Ya’an(雅安), Zaozhuang(枣庄) in China. Bangkok(กรุงเทพมหานคร), Chiang Mai(เชียงใหม่), and Krabi(กระบี่) in Thailand (three times). I like the feeling that meets with people from different places, which is a good way to widen my horizon and discover the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In Feb. 2019, my brother asked me which app could help him know about local culture or play with locals. I came across CS when I tried to find a specific app to solve this problem. Definitely, CouchSurfing is the unique app to share your stories with locals and get stories from locals. I have a dream to travel to different places as much as possible and find people who have the same goal for me. Then we can share our stories with each other, even though I just start to this journey. These are the reasons why I like using CS before vacation.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: all things I know about China, including culture, traditions, food, history and so on. Sharing the experience about learning English, I spent three months on preparing IELTS test and got all band score 7.0 (speaking 7.0, listening, 6.0, reading 8.5, writing, 6.5).
