Overview
About Me
In November 2015 I left my job to travel the world, and since October 2017 I've been working as an English teacher in Bangkok. Before all this I spent 9 years in Montreal, working as an engineer in a couple different industries, paying off student debt and saving up to go on a journey. It's something I've been dreaming of doing since my first backpacking trip 13 years ago, and so far it has exceeded all of my expectations.
Generally speaking, I'm a very mindful person. I'm someone who is grateful for all the opportunities I've had in life, and who enjoys creating meaningful connections with others. Particularly those of a different background than my own. Every encounter is an opportunity to learn something new about myself and about the lives of those with whom I share this planet.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm looking for opportunities to immerse myself in local culture, make new friends and have unique experiences. Obviously it pays to be frugal whilst travelling long term on a finite budget, but I am also a person who enjoys the simple things in life and is not bothered by what many would call "roughing it". Be it sleeping on a couch, on a floor, or in a tent.
Interests
I'm a bit of a generalist, in that I enjoy learning about and consuming pretty much everything. Music, literature, history, politics, sport, science, food, culture and pop-culture. I like it all.
In terms of hobbies, I do play music (guitar mostly) and have lately been dabbling in web-design. But travel (obviously) and everything related to international development are my current passions.

Music, Movies, and Books
Tough to pick favourites, given that I consume so much art. Really depends on the day. But I like ambitious artists, anything that pushes a genre forward or makes me think, or just straight up blows my mind.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Quitting my job to travel the world indefinitely was pretty awesome.
Teach, Learn, Share
Yes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My experiences, my optimism for the future of humanity, my knowledge on many subjects, my sense of humour and an open and engaged mind ready to listen to what my hosts have to share with me. I can also give a hand around the house if need be.
