I just got back from a 2000 mile cycle trip of a lifetime across Europe by way of Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, and Poland. One of the highlights of the trip included staying with couchsurfing and warmshowers hosts in most of those countries and experiencing the local cultures along the way. Now that I'm back in the US, I'd like to return the favor to likeminded backpackers and, in particular, cyclists, who are in need of a place to crash in our nation's capitol.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can listen to pretty much anything but usually soft rock (U2, Coldplay, the Script, Imagine Dragons), and whatever's on Broadway.

Favorite movies include Good Will Hunting, Chariots of Fire, Dead Poets Society, and the Emperor's New Groove. Favorite TV shows include Arrested Development, 30 Rock, the West Wing, and Veep.

Just finished "A Little Life," which may be my favorite book. Others include "Life of Pi," "Perks of Being a Wallflower," the "Harry Potter" series, and "Gone Girl" (hate that I loved that so much!).

I jumped on and off a moving train during a marathon once -- amazing or stupid?

I can share stories of my travels (how I ended up on a highway on my bike, how I ended up at the members of Parliament-only bar in Westminster Palace) and am always up for learning about a city or area's culture or heritage. I love history!
