Hi! I'm Eric, but my friends call me JC. You can pick your favourite to use.

I lived out of my backpack for 3 years. I used to have a job that allowed me to travel a lot. But at the end of July 2018 I quit my job so I could travel FULL TIME! Mid 2019 I decided to call Bogota home which is where I now live with my wife.

I love meeting new interesting people (who on CS doesn't), sharing stories, and living life to the fullest!

I grew up in a small town in Canada, studied mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta, after graduating I found myself a job that allowed me to travel a lot! Now I'm taking it easy in Colombia and starting a new chapter in my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is by far the best way to experience a city and culture! I am very grateful to be allowed into people's homes and truly experience the local way of life. It is also a great way to meet open minded people with a interest in exploring the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was trapped in India as an illegal alien for a month, long story... I will share it if you have the time to listen to it.
I have worked outdoors in some extreme climates, everything from -50 to +50 Celsius.
I have been living out of my backpack for 2.5 years now.

I love learning and passing on some of the hard lessons that I have learned.
I can teach you how to spin poi, one of my favourite hobbies!

I am currently learning Spanish! I would greatly appreciate a quick lesson!
I am also trying to get more into photography.
