About Me

"And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling."
I am 38 year old Irish woman, and I live my life on the road. I started this trip 5 years ago and I spend about half of my time on Organic/ Permaculture) farms WWOOFing and volunteering. I spend the other half up mountains studying yoga or on retreat. I work where I can and try to save for the next journey. The past year I have been Teaching English in Phnom Pehn but am moving onto Vietnam this June.
Someone gifted me a bike recently and I have fallen in love with cycling as my mode of transport (still relatively short distances though but am building up). I love to eat and cook. I am a vegan (who eats eggs) but am very happy with raw food though so easy for me to eat anywhere & am looking forward to sharing recipes.
Life is an ecocystem and we are all connected.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been volunteering everywhere I go (work-exchange & WWOOFing) but am very keen to Couchsurf. It seems that all of the cool and interesting people I meet are all part of Couchsurfing. I want to also be part of this beautiful community, to become old friends with new people.

The hope is that I can meet like-minded people who can expand my horizons and show me new places. That we can have conversations over good coffee and with lots of walks.

Interests

My favourite daily things are being in nature, growing/ cooking /eating healthy food (I always carry olive oil, garlic & decent coffee), cycling, walking, & conversations over good coffee.

I have a keen interest in all things involving Yoga & Meditation and although my practice is very much on-again /off-again, it’s still very much a constant in my life.

My aim is to have a little homestead, so I am interested in eco-building, gardening, farming etc. & anything involving nature & animals. All of the little things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I miss my kindle (currently in storage in Delhi *I am in Cambodia* and I have lost the storage ticket).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived on a hilltribe (organic/permaculture) farm for 9 months (helping to run it for 3 months) where I walked around barefoot with a machete strapped to my back (local style). Going into the jungle to cut down bamboo and then making structures with what we carried back. Having a short term intentional community living there with all nationalities. Creating a beautiful musical artistic community. Cooking food over a wood fire. Cutting down/collecting branches for firewood.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am up for learning anything and everything(& if it involves farming, growing plants/vegetable, yoga, mediation – you will have a friend forever )!

I can teach English & anything that I already know, I am more than willing to share.
Can share experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring my enthusiasm for seeing new places. My experiences from travelling which started back in 1997. The most recent trip began in 2011 and I am still on it.
