About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Laughing our way forward!
ABOUT ME
[Erica:] I love food! Primarily vegetarian, but exceptions happen. When not at the farmer's market, cooking or eating (actually, usually at the same time), I read books by the ton or find a grassy hill to enjoy.
[Lou:] I love people and talking to them about whatever they're interested in. I'm nerdy and into everything, especially history, medicine, and musing. I'm a New Yorker and a rabid Yankees fan. I love jumping in puddles and walking at night with coffee in one hand and a friend to chat with for hours.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The CS network for us is all about exchange - we're okay with just providing a place to sleep, but it's more fun to show someone around and have a great conversation.
We've had a chance to learn about all sorts of things- cooking ratatouille, counting to ten in various languages, the science behind weather prediction, and so much more.
Interests
Music, dancing and drinking with friends, long walks and adventures. Snowboarding, hiking, cooking, science, history and other nerdy things.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Almost anything. Some current favorites are Pink Martini, Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Andrew Bird, Manu Chao, Lupe Fiasco, Nina Simone. Our latest concert was Janelle Monae rocking out with the SF Symphony.
Movies: Auntie Mame, Princess Bride, Sukiyaki Western Django, Amelie, Star Wars (the classics)
Books: Terry Pratchett, Watership Down, Paulo Coelho, Haruki Marakami, Stephen Fry, Paradise General, Jeanette Winterson, Autobiography of Red, Roald Dahl, Neil Gaiman.
Fantasy, biography, travel writing (Jaguars Ripped My Flesh!).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
[Erica:] Deep sea fishing with my grandmother in Sitka, Alaska.
[Lou:] Medical volunteering in rural towns throughout Honduras. I've never felt so welcome, and it solidified my passion to become a physician.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm... we have diverse cooking skills (tofu scramble, gnocchi, cream puffs or chocolate truffles), ability to choose a decent red wine for $10, Lou's a master of emergency medicine.
We're always down to learn new things, no matter how obscure.
