About Me
ABOUT ME ヘ(= ̄∇ ̄)ノ
I grew up in Texas but have been living in the Bay Area (San Francisco, CA) for the last two years working as an engineer in the tech industry. I like to go out about once a month but I also like to stay in and read or play with my dogs. I adore traveling and I love adventure, even if its in my back yard. I will take a dare if its worth a great memory. I just bought my first professional camera (Fuji X-T1) and I'm itching for excuses to use it!!
Things I love:
The smell of old, cloth covered books
Well designed packaging
Trying foreign drinks and desserts
Impromptu jam sessions
The sound of the needle on vinyl
Surprising people after they underestimate me
Petting every single dog that walks by
PHILOSOPHY
In movement there is life, and in change there is power.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My brother has used our home to host couchsurfers several times, but it was through his account. Hosting people is always an interesting experience and I have yet to regret it. I typically stay in hostels or Airbnbs when I travel but I love meeting people and I have had a lot of very fun experiences traveling with strangers. I'd like to start hosting people in my Bay Area apartment soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm pretty easy to please and am not very critical of what I consume. All cultures and genres have something wonderful to offer the arts.
I love music with strong rhythms to dance to or beautiful harmonies. I just stole all my Dad's old record collection so I've been cycling through a bunch of 60s and 70s jams (James Taylor & CSNY on repeat), but I still love all the trashy pop music I grew up with (can't hate on Brittney). Spanish pop always gets me dancing (and Prince Royce always makes me emotional). Euro bands are so good (the kooks, the Beatles hellooooo). Don't make me choose.
I typically read to escape so I consume teen fantasy novels like air (Hunger Games, Harry Potter - die hard romantic, here) but I've started trying to read more fiction for my own personal growth and awareness. If you're looking for your next read, "When Breath Becomes Air" is (no pun intended) breathtaking (and fiction!).
Give me anything Pixar to watch and I won't talk for the next two hours. Instead, I'll ugly snot cry and snort laugh in a repeating loop until I'm released from the trance. Non pixar movies are okay, too. Also, I've been Netflix binging like crazy, so ask me all your tv show trivia and I'll probably know what you're talking about. I love eastern culture and wish I was character out of a K-drama.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How do I choose one? I've sung "Blackbird" with cave gypsies on a hill at dusk looking over the Alhambra in Granada. I've stood on the peak of a mountain in Hawaii where the wind blew so hard that it held me up when I leaned into it. I've savored a chocolate Snickers shot with new friends at the Iron Curtain in Prague. I've swum to the island of San Sebastian and exploring it until sunset barefoot with nothing but a friend for company.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm willing to teach you any skills I have that you don't!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to bring you a gift from California if you host me! I'm also happy to help around your home in any way. I'm very clean (it helps me think) and a quiet sleeper.
