CURRENT MISSION

I want to have fun. Currently that definition includes a broad spectrum of activities including traveling, SCUBA diving, surfing, snowboarding, longboarding, speedskating, attending university, and concocting various wacky plans with my friends.

PHILOSOPHY

This too shall pass. This phrase became a part of my personal philosophy during cross-country practice my sophomore year of highschool. Practice that particular day consisted of 18 400m laps at race pace. If you’ve run cross-country before, you know that’s a long, strenuous work out. If you haven’t, take my word that it’s hell. At approximately the third lap, it seemed like the workout would surely take forever. I would never survive. I told myself that ‘this too shall pass’ and eventually it did. Now I use that thinking anytime I have long stressful time or a particularly enjoyable experience. No matter whether it’s good or bad, the shitty times and the wonderful times will pass before you know it so enjoy the good while it lasts and ignore the bad until it’s over. Smile all the time!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As of right now, I unfortunately have not yet had a chance to participate in the couch surfing project (other than the new member donation fee of course). When I have a couch again, I certainly plan to participate more fully because this project is the epitome of the cooperation I’d like to see in the world.

That is a rather broad question isn’t it? I suppose I’m interested in everything to some extent. We’ve already covered sports, traveling, biology, friends, new acquaintences… There are very few things that actually bore me so let’s just leave it at “interested in everything” and move on.

I’ll listen to anything. I never remember movies so I won’t bother to list them. I love Vonnegut, Orwell, Pynchon and Steinbeck. If you have any other favorites, I’d love to read them!
