About Me
ABOUT ME
Short, friendly, and with a sense of the ridiculous. I've spent the last few years living in Australia and Spain, learning to speak Spanish and finishing a degree in political economy and Spanish literature. For the next few months I'm going to be travelling around Australia in my van, doing lots of rockclimbing and hiking, and spending as much time in the mountains as possible.
I'm an avid reader, and I love cooking (and eating). Especially dumplings. I love dumplings. I'm also very fond of turtles, and recently made a turtle-shaped lantern out of paper and bamboo.
I'm naturally quite tidy and organised, and I'm respectful of other people's space. I always enjoy hearing about the lives people have lived, and learning about their adventures and the things that they're passionate about. I'm happy to be self-sufficient if my hosts are busy, and even happier to get a beer with them and get to know them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I first left school, I went overseas for a few years with a tremendous amount of naïveté and hardly any money. Couchsurfing saved me on many occasions, and helped me to make some amazing connections with people in the places I travelled. Without this website those years simply wouldn't have been possible - at different times it's helped me to make friends, find jobs, be rescued during a crisis, encounter new skills and languages, and more than once it's restored my faith in humanity.
Now that I'm back in Australia, I live with some wonderful people who often host couchsurfers in the spare room. It's wonderful to be able to show travellers the hospitality warmth and hospitality that we've been given over the years!
