ABOUT ME

My name is Erica, I'm 26 years old, and artist & graphic designer living in New Orleans, LA. I've been living in New Orleans for about 3 years now and it's a big part of my heart. For a living I mainly freelance within the graphic design and bartending realms. I have a BFA in Photography/Art History. I'm an artist with a passion for meeting and collaborating with other like-minded folks. I'm always up for a new sense of living and gathering different objectives of the world. It's always been my dream to travel and I've always been unsettled with this idea of staying in one place for a long period of time. For a long time, I've always wanted to be aligned with more of a community, and hope to build a second 'family' for myself by meeting people from all over!

New Orleans in the summer can be super hot hot hot and sometimes unbearable, which is why I'm dipping this summer and traveling all over. I hope to meet ya during my travels! :)

PHILOSOPHY

I wouldn't say that I have an official philosophy; but I try to live as simply as possible and treat others as I would like to ideally be treated - which is by respecting them as people as well as their personal space, and being there to help and listen when needed. I think it's honestly just really important to know who are as a person and have an upstanding sense of character and self -- as well as a strong sense of confidence in yourself and what you do.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a surfer I consider myself to be kind and easy-going. I realize that everyone has different schedules and daily lives and will try not to be a burden on anyone while staying in their home. I love to cook and consider my self to be a decent one! I would be more than happy to cook whomever is hosting me daily meals as well as cooking together. I'm a good listener, available to help with various tasks, don't need much space and am able to keep it just as tidy as when I arrived! I love pets of any size and have no specific allergies. I also just quit smoking 4 months ago and won't need space to do that. (JK I still smoke cigarettes, I wrote this 3 years ago, but I am super respectful and will always smoke outside and trash my butts)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far! This is my first time!

I enjoy making zines/small edition artist books, buying + keeping my various plants alive, thrifting, writing small screenplays that no one will probably ever see, bicycling, collaging, costume design, hanging out with cool, nice friends, going to music shows, existing, exploring new places, making music, etc.
