CURRENT MISSION
Just another wandering soul......
ABOUT ME
I caught the travel bug while volunteering with the Peace Corps in Ukraine. I've been on the move ever since I finished my service there, usually saving money in a seasonal job in the states for a few months, then living or travelling internationally for several months until I run out of cash.
PHILOSOPHY
One day/destination/journey at a time...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've couchsurfed several times, and have never once had a negative experience. Most of the random, remote, locations I find myself living in aren't hot spots for surfers, but someday I hope to live in a place where I can host regularly.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Several times surfing around Europe, no hosting surfers who've found me through the website yet, unfortunately. But my apartment in the states used to be open to just about anyone. Years of unofficial couchsurfing with friends, acquantainces, friends-of-friends, or cool people I meet wherever I happen to be. Fun story: Several years back some friends and I took a roadtrip to Pennsylvannia to go hanggliding in the mountains. We were trying to do this as cheap as possible, so we thought we'd try camping - it was chilly in Ohio, but bearable. Would've worked out great, except there were several inches of snow on the ground in PA, so much frost our fire-starters wouldn't stay lit, and our little summer-tent collapsed halfway through the night. Oh, and the next day a Nor'easter was expected to hit... When our hanggliding instructor heard all of this, he invited all of us to stay with him. He was amazing and we were all so grateful. So Karma is playing a bit of a role in my desire to be a couchsurfer - I'd love to pass on the favor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just finished a year as a contract worker at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. I just got through the winter in October 2015. It was a crazy, weird, long season, but amazing would describe it as well.
