Overview
About Me
I graduated college in 2015 and am now an English teaching assistant in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. This is my second time living in Germany for an extended period of time and I'm loving every minute of it! I'm trying to make the most of it and travel as much as possible, even though it can be difficult.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The first time I couchsurfed, I didn't know what to expect, but I found that I loved it. I had never travelled in such a manner before and was relatively nervous about the whole thing, but it turned out to be a great experience each and every time I visited a new host. In my opinion, getting to know locals is really the best way to travel. It gives you a totally unique and special experience whenever you're able to connect with a native of the area you're visiting. You can easily get a new perspective of someone who may have an entirely different world view from your own and learn all about someone from somewhere you may never have been. I thing couchsurfing is a really interesting platform in which cultural exchange can occur. The first time I did this, I met so many interesting, curious, diverse, and friednly people who all had a mutual interest in expanding their world view and I can't wait to meet more!
Interests
I've recently become a bit of a health nut. I go to the gym as much as possible and I try to cook as healthy I can, but Germany is full of bread and beer. And apparently I'm not as disciplined as I thought I was. Other than that, I love going to the beach in the summer, reading a book on said beach, listening to music, dancing and my not so guilty pleasure is karaoke, despite the fact that I'm a terrible singer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think being able to live, work, and explore in Germany is a pretty amazing thing that I'm doing right now.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to talk about cultural differences and misperceptions of other peoples' cultures and lifestyles. It might be one of my favorite things. I'm lucky I get to do that for work right now. I'm willing to share my opinion on anything and everything (that I know about at least). And I hope that others would be willing to share theirs with me as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can make a really good (like REALLY good) mac&cheese. I can make it for you and teach you how to cook it. I've never had any complaints. Also down for sharing ideas, perspectives, and stories (all while eating mac&cheese ;).
