ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Erica. I am from California, lived in Texas, and now currently reside in Washington, DC. I work within the field of economic development and am looking to pursue graduate studies in the near future. I like to see myself as open-minded, down-to-earth, and ambitious.

PHILOSOPHY

Two of my largest values include impact and connection. I like to know I can make a positive difference in this world, which is why I try to leave people and things better than I found them. I also appreciate finding things in common with others and sharing similar experiences to create those friendship connections.

In a general life perspective, I like to think that we should hold a "growth mindset," where your knowledge only expands and that it's all a process. I believe that you can only go up after being torn down. I believe everyone has something to offer in this world, whether or not you realize it right away. I try my best to make everyone feel inclusive through my daily interactions with them. I also think curiosity about the world is a good thing.

In my spare time, I play love to try new restaurants as well as attend music and sporting events -- specifically women's soccer games. My favorite cuisines are Japanese and Mediterranean. I'm a fan of summertime, chocolate, and bulldogs.

I'll try everything once; you can dare me! Two items on my bucket list are to visit every continent and give a TED Talk one day.

As someone who values diversity, I can't help but be fascinated with cultures and languages from around the world. I can give you an American perspective on things, as long as I can gain a perspective from you that is just as valuable.

My most recent travel was to Kenya and Tanzania in July 2019. There is true meaning in "Hakuna Matata" that you only understand when you visit East Africa.
