ABOUT ME

I'm a bubbly/friendly/outgoing/positive girl who loves making new friends and experiencing new things! I'm currently living in Spain for a semester, studying at the university here. I've looked forward to living in Europe ever since I was a little girl, and I want to make the most of my time here, meeting as many new friends and experiencing as many new things as I possibly can before I have to go back to America!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm only able to surf because I'm living with a host-family in Spain and am not allowed to have visitors, but hopefully when I get home to America this summer I can start hosting, too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had my first couchsurfing experience YET but I will when I travel over spring break in April (2014)! :)

I love photography, traveling, and getting to know new people and cultures! I also LOVE FOOD. Both cooking & eating it :) I'll be honest...I can find almost anything interesting. I absolutely love learning, and sometimes I think I should be a student forever because there are so many things I want to learn.

I'm a nerd: I looove Lord of the Rings & Harry Potter and I'm reading Game of Thrones right now and I love it, too (but I'm only 1/2 way through the 3rd book so don't spoil it for me!). Some other books I love are The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, Blue Like Jazz, anything by John Green, and Cutting for Stone.

I'm not picky at all when it comes to movies. If it entertains me, I like it. I'll probably be judged for this, but happy/cheesy rom coms are usually my favorite because I like light-hearted things. But that's not to say I don't like more thought-provoking movies, too. Blood Diamond and Hotel Rwanda are two of my favorites, in fact.

My music taste is also pretty eclectic. I like a little bit of everything, but the genre I listen to the most is indie/acoustic/folk. Favorite artists include Josh Garrels, Joshua Radin, Gregory Alan Isakov, Patrick Park, City & Colour, Mumford & Sons, Of Monsters & Men, Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, and Jack Johnson.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I was in Ethiopia on my 19th birthday and got to share birthday cake with some friends I met walking into a nature park, and then we fed bananas to monkeys! Actually, every day of my two and half months in Ethiopia was an amazing, life-changing adventure. I worked with an after-school program for underprivelaged teenage girls in Addis Ababa and they will forever hold a piece of my heart.
