About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cram in as much awesomeness as possible in 3 weeks of travel (Pacific coast)

ABOUT ME

I'm laid-back, respectful, mature, and always up to try something new. When I travel I love to explore the city, its culture, and its food. I love meeting new people and I also enjoy cycling around or going hiking if the option is there. I am always excited to demonstrate my cooking abilities, and to learn something new.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short. Don't take it too seriously, but cherish every moment and appreciate the little things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted twice, and am looking to surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted twice. Good experience so far

Interests

I like cooking, carpentry, and spending time at my family cottage. I like going to pubs with friends, or just laying low. Not much for partying or going to clubs anymore, but I might be dragged out on occasion. I like to read the news; also just to hang out in a nearby park and read a book or have a nap.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love dystopian fiction - 1984, Brave New World, and Fahrenheit 451 to name a few. My favourite book is a tie between 1984 and Catch-22.

Music, I listen to a good amount of everything (classical, rock, jazz, hip hop, electronic, some pop), but I ignore most of the Top 40s.

Movies: Dr. Strangelove, Snatch, 50/50, Memento, RocknRolla, the Hurt Locker, the Other Guys, Blood Diamond, the King's Speech, and the Bourne trilogy.

TV: Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Malcolm in the Middle, Archer, South Park, and quite a few others...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied in an English castle for part of my bachelor's degree.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love cooking. I can teach someone a recipe I know, and would love to learn a recipe from someone else.

I love music as well, and am a drummer; I can teach you a few beats. I used to play trombone. I myself am open to learning something new, even on a new instrument. I can share bands/songs with you that I like, and you can do the same for me if you want!

I also know a lot about history and politics, and can discuss either one for hours. If you pursue such a discussion, you have been warned...
