About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a graduate student interested in design, problem solving, and using politics as a tool for good. I'm an avid musician, playing drums, bass and guitar, as well as listening to a whole range of genres and artists. I love camping, hiking, paddling, and exploring in general.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've stayed with a few CS hosts in the past, and am eager to keep traveling and hosting from Tempe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I found out about CS through some great stories from my friends. Iceland was my first chance to try it out, and I had an incredible road trip with fellow CSers - likely one of my favourite experiences of all time! I'd love to meet more people on the road, and I'm open to hosting here in the Tempe area (or, at the very least showing you around town if I don't have a bed free).

Music, Movies, and Books
Sigur Ros is a clear favorite, but I have a massive collection of books and music. I've been on a Canadian content kick lately, likely as a result of moving to the US. Accordingly, it's been lots of Great Big Sea & Canada Reads for me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking 100km of the East Coast Trail in 2009 was pretty amazing. I also absolutely loved road tripping around northern Iceland for 3 days with new-found couch surfing friends - ask me about it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm working on my PhD right now as a sociologist of science. My latest project is studying forest fires and how we can best keep people and communities safe during these emergencies. Tell me your stories of disasters, adventure, and survival!
