About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to make great music, meet awesome people, and live forever if I can. (so far, so good!)

ABOUT ME

I am a dad, a musician, and a cryonicist. I have 2 kids, one boy and one girl. I'm pretty sure I'm done on that front, but raising them has been one of the greatest joys and trials I've encountered. I am in a 3 piece metal band based out of Cincinnati OH called Kerberos and we hope to get on the road hopefully soon in support of the release of our debut full length album. Last (for this profile, although this is certainly not all there is to it) I am a member of the Cryonics Institute with plans to have my body preserved after death, just in case science gets awesome enough to bring me back at some point within the next million years or so. I guess if it works I'll go on a revival tour.

PHILOSOPHY

Why do I live my life? Well it sort of started without my consent, but I have no objections, and I've never not lived my life that I can remember, so I'd like that to continue. Yes. As far as personal philosophy, I'd say sometimes things can look differently from a different perspective, so it's probably best to try to look at them from as many perspectives as you can and try to wrap your mind around the world before trying to fit the world into your mind. That and if something seems useful and it works, and falls within reason, then I'd say results matter more than explaining everything does.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this so I am not sure what to put here. I guess for now I just want to couch surf in Florida a bit with a friend of mine from California, but if I get a chance to travel more often I'd like to do it while on tour with my band here and there and maybe to see a few cool places, for real, not just the tourist version. I'd also love to meet people and hear their crazy stories, and maybe tell a few of my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I go way back with the couch. When I was a kid, my brother and me would take all the cushions off the couch and literally surf around the house with them. Seriously though, I have, throughout my adult live hosted a number of friends and friends of my significant other in our home when they needed it, and I have stayed on a few friends couches from time to time when travelling out of town, but never through this site since it didn't exist back then (or at least I didn't know about it)

Interests

I am interested in stories(I am apparently a fantastic story teller, at least according to my kids) I am interested in music, all types, but my favorites to play are metal, classical, and jazz. I also like listening to swing, doo wop, oldies, bluegrass, and Cuban roots music, but I haven't quite gotten into playing any of those styles with any sort of proficiency. I am interested in movies/films/production, I am a music producer myself, I am interested in visual art, basically anything art, visual or audio. I am interested in science and tracking the progress of emerging technologies that are advancing, and meeting people from all around the world. I don't speak any other languages that good, but I've always been very tolerant of people speaking English in heavy accents and being patient enough to engage them in conversation. I have lots of other interests too, but these are a few I can think of to type in here right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

We can talk about this in person if you want to meet me. Too much to boil it all down here.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I ever got on an airplane, I jumped out of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I can teach...Music, guitar, metal, why it's cool to want to live forever, how to make a recording sound good. Things I want to learn...to improve on the things I can teach, I'd like to learn more about nutrition and fitness, which I've been getting into more of lately, all sorts of stuff, things I can share...If we cut something in half, you can have the bigger piece.
