About Me

Hi, I'm Erick and I'm addicted to travelling!
I've been living in Ireland for a year now and it's been such an amazing experience. Besides all the beautiful places I visited here and abroad, I met amazing people and make friends with many of them.
My favorite things to do on a trip are hiking, so you get to know the nature around; hanging out with locals, seeing their world through their very own perspective, and wander around with no map, allowing myself to get lost as I find the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because, as a student, I'm always on budget, short trips and nothing better to enjoy these short times away than close to someone who actually lives in the place I'm visiting, exchanging tips, perspectives and experiences. Besides, I don't need any luxury while "on the road", so any mat on the floor is as well appreciated! :)

Interests

I love being surrounded by nature and whenever I can I have my tent with me, but as Ryanair might sometimes be a bit annoying about having a tent as carry-on (I know, right? ¬¬'), I try and enjoy every little opportunity to be in contact with nature, should that be hiking, walking at parks, on a boat trip and such.
I also like talking, about everything pretty much, so if you're a chatter yourself, we might wind up spending the night up , of course, if you feel like ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Indie rock and classic music, but I'm quite broad-minded, so my taste in music keeps on shifting haha
I really enjoy cinema, from Lars von Trier to Spielberg, from classics to guilty pleasures, I think every story told on a screen has its value.
My favorite books so far are The Millennium Trilogy, by Stieg Larsson, and The Little Prince, which the latter I read at least once every year and I don't seem to be anything close to getting sick of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I like the way I've been living my life so far... long story short, I started working when I was 14 as an apprentice of electrician, which I was not so fond of but it allowed me to afford college and my first backpacking trip, when I was 17. I took International Relations as major and, while at college, worked as an English and Portuguese for Foreigners teacher. After I'd finished college, I came to Ireland to get to know a bit more about the world, languages and myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think we all know a unique bit of the world that is worth sharing and I'm willing to, I can also do a few chores, if that's the case ;)
