About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Tough one. Reaching some kind of balance between enjoying myself and leaving a legacy behind, I guess

ABOUT ME

I tended to consider myself as a shy, introvert, non-party kind of person. But now I realize that pretty much depends on the people around you. I'm still not the most talkative guy around, I'm an adept of not saying anything if you don't have anything interesting to say. But I think most people who know me would define me as very honest and funny (in a very particular way).

Besides this, I'm a very complex, idiosyncratic and peculiar person. Exactly as anyone else.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to do things without much effort. I'm lazy by nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Spent one night in Strasbourg, and it was really nice. Also, had my life saved by a very nice guy who offered his apartment for me to spend the night until I could get the keys to my room.

Interests

Cool stuff, I guess? Good music, good films, good art, good books. I'm always very interested on how the natural sciences (mathematics, especially) can interact with the social ones.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: indie-esque stuff attracts me. Wes Anderson, Coen Brothers, you know.

Music: anyone that's trying to do something different (and sounds good). Look for erickmartins at last.fm.

Books: too many to list. Trying to read more post-modern/contemporary stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I came from a lower-middle-class family in an almost countryside neighborhood and ended up studying all over Europe and knowing so many things and people I'd never imagine I would. It might not sound amazing for you, but it is for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a bizarre memory for unimportant things. Sometimes it's amusing.

My studies taught me to think about almost anything from a mathematical point of view. Most of the time you can draw interesting, non-intuitive conclusions from this.

I love comparing the way I see things with the opinions from someone that has a very different background. I believe that diversity is always positive.
