About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see how long I can live the dream
ABOUT ME
I´m mikey and I rock. I am currently a Peace Corps volunteer in Nahuaterique, in the department of La Paz, on the road between Marcala and Perquin in El Salvador. Before my time in Honduras, I was a volunteer with Quetzaltrekkers in Leon, Nicaragua guiding hikes to volcanoes around the Leon area, the profits of which fund an organization called Las Tias which helps street children and children at risk. Before that I had travelled Through Guatemala (5 weeks)and El Salvador (2 weeks),and will spend 3 months in Nicaragua. I studied abroad for a semester in Havana, Cuba studying Political Science, drinking rum, freestyling by the malecon, and getting my salsa on.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy is essentially to create a scenario in which I´m constantly doing something awesome with my life. To never become mediocre. And to spend as much time in lush tropical settings as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a few CSers and look forward to surfing myself. If you want to come check out the campo in Honduras and meet some friendly Lencans, then come on by! I live in a very small and very rural indigenus Lenca community on the border between Honduras and El Salvador, about 2,000 meters up. It is filled with beautiful scenary of mountains and pine forests, and you can see 3 different volcanoes in El Salvador, depending on where you are. If you would like to visit, please email me in advance (because I don't have internet in my site), to give me time to respond.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy an untold number of both movies and books. Peace Corps alone will result in my having read an untold amount of books. I love all kinds of music and am open to new artists
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have climbed and camped on top of the largest still standing pyramid in the world, La Dante, at Mirador, a 60 km trek through the jungles of Northern Guatemala. I watched 5 days worth of amazing sunsets, sunrises, and the clearest sky at night that you´ve ever seen.
Teach, Learn, Share
When you reach the top of the mountain, keep climbing.
