Chi sono

Hello!
My name is Eric. I grew up in China and came to the United States in 2010. I graduated from Ohio State University in Food Science major.
I am totally sober, that means I don't drink, smoke or use any drug.
I am easy-going and optimistic, mixed of both introvert and extrovert depending on how I know you.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I'd like to experience more different cultures, and have more friends from different countries. I think the best way to experience a country is to stay in a local family and visit some special places. Staying in a hotel would not give you a detailed idea about the place you are visiting. And I don't think it is a good idea to spend on sleeping arrangements in most of the travelling spends.

Interessi

I like most things about social sciences. I experienced few different cultures, and I would like to know more.
I am a foodie, I like cooking.
I like travelling to experience the local history, culture. I'd like to visit human landscapes more than natural landscapes.
I like animals, so I haunt many pet stores.
I like hiking and bicycling.

Musica, film e libri

Music: some country music, folk music classical music and Peking Opera. Besides these, I don't really like any type of music.
Movie: Mr. Bean, of course.
Books: any books about history and politics, but not about political view point. I don't like authors to tell me how do they think, I have my own point of view.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

When I was travelling in Chicago, I once took the bus and got lost because I got off some stop that I did not know. I was trying to figure out where was I so I walked for about 2 hours. And finally, I found a local mosque, their stuff was really kind that he sent me to the couch terminal. He even shown me around in that area for some scenic spots, and invited me to have diner in his home. This might be my first stray couchsurfing that left me a deep impression.
And maybe another amazing thing? I sued the US federal government without any assistance of attorney. It took almost three years to proceed, because I've never had experience in legal field and the US attorney was trying to delay the case. Though there wasn't any resolution, at least I tried my best and have learnt a lot in this field.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

I can share all what I learnt and my life experience by far. I can also share my "unique" view about politics, history and different cultures. If it is possible, I will cook for the host or teaching the host how to cook Chinese food, I am pretty confident about my cooking. And I will make sure to bring the host some unique gift as an appreciation for hosting, I think it is very important, because it is a courtesy, and it will encourage people to devote more to maintain our couchsurfing community by both hosting and travelling.
