About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel around the world. To meet wonderful people. To seek out adventure. To never have a normal job again.

ABOUT ME

Please, before emailing me, check the availability calendar:

This is actually a profile for two people. Me (Eric Normand) and Virginia!

Weird, strange, abnormal! Well, at least that's how I feel when I'm standing still!

I need to travel, and I want to support other travelers.

I've been to lots of places and want to see lots more. I decided one day that I don't want to go from place to place. I prefer living and learning in a community for longer periods of time.

I love life and the living of it. Want to discover what the Universe has to offer, which, so far, is a lot!

Long conversations are my forte. I also program computers, cook, and do random projects. If you're working on something cool, let me know how I can help.

I'm sometimes moody but always willing to give a backrub. I meditate and practice yoga, tai chi, and other stuff. I've got a blog, of course.

If you're in town, drop me a line. Maybe we can meet up/have coffee/otherwise chill together.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy of the moment:

You get one life. Live it.

Other people will think you're weird no matter what you do, so you might as well do whatever you want.

Culture is not your friend. Culture wants you to be a productive member of society, which means following the rules and living a crappy life. Break up with your own culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Weirdest surfing moment: I stayed with an Egyptian family out in a remote village in Egypt. Had to hitchhike to get there. I was wondering where the hell we were going. Watched bad Egyptian TV with the kids and ate delicious food.
